These second set of photographs of moss, lichen and fungi were taken in an area of Tibradden Wood to the other side of the car park, deeper into the unmarked areas at the foot of the hill towards the road. This section of woodlands contained Birch, Beech, Ash, Oak and Hawthorn. Close to the picnic areas new trees have started to be planted but deeper into the woods the Oak and Hawthorn in particular are mature. In the clearings are pockets of bracken and brambles and plenty of animal life, noting Red Squirrels while I was photographing, and droppings and trampled paths for rabbit and deer. Overhead near the car park a Kestrel hovered. There was a huge amount of moss, lichen and fungi of a vast variety in this small area. The fungi in particular, it being the beginning of autumn, was everywhere and full of colours. This was much more noticeable than study one, only a day apart.
